Future of Hummers and the Hummer H4

The future of the Hummer is currently in an uncertain place. Issues with the economy, gas prices and environmental concerns are making people wary of purchasing Hummers. This fact has lead GM to indicate that it is considering selling off the brand. But would it be possible for the Hummer H4 to change the future for the brand and make it financially profitable?

Problems GM Has With the Hummer

GM is finding that there are a lot of problems with the Hummer in the market right now. It has low fuel efficiency plus Hummers are just plain expensive. It doesn’t appear that the trends that are making this vehicle unpopular are going to change anytime soon which is causing the car company to think seriously about getting rid of the brand.

Despite these problems, there are definitely reasons that the Hummer can continue to do well in the market. There will always be a niche interest in Hummers which could make it work as a luxury brand. Additionally, there are changes possible that could make people re-interested in the Hummer.

The best option for GM or whatever company ends up buying the Hummer brand is to make sure that the Hummer H4 differs to some degree from the other Hummers out there. The Hummer H4 needs to be a green vehicle based on a car platform so that it can work within the realities of today’s economy and concerns. Whether it’s a GM brand or not, this will matter in the sale of future hummers.
